Sneak Peek | Las Vegas Elopement Photography | LeAnn + Marcus

LeAnn & Marcus choose to have a small wedding in Las Vegas with only a select number of close friends and family. This provided for a very intimate setting on the terrace at the MGM but it also provided me with ample time to get some photographs of just the bride and groom before everyone else saw them!

We ventured up and down the strip to capture some of their “romantics” at the Bellagio Fountains and inside the Wynn.

Here is a sneak peek of those!

This elegant Las Vegas wedding took place at Emerald at Queensridge in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shameka and Kenyatta found Taylored Photo Memories and choose us to be their photographer and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the outcome because these two are soooooo cute and photogenic. We first photographed their engagement session at Eldorado Canyon and then I was so happy to photograph them again in April for their wedding at Emerald at Queensridge.

I loved everything about this wedding, from Shameka’s handcrafted Chuck Taylors that said “I Do” to the awesome pant-suit bridesmaid dresses. Most of all, I truly enjoyed photographing the memories of their day. Shameka is a stunning person and she smiles she fills the room with happiness and life! It took awhile to break Kenyatta, but when he finally allowed me to photograph him as he was, his smile was equally beautiful and full of life.

I have no doubt these two will have a lifetime of happiness. They are so sweet, laid back and genuine and it was such a pleasure being their photographer. I really can’t emphasize enough how thankful I am for all my amazing couples that have granted me the opportunity to capture their adventures and memories on my camera!

Live your adventure!

Help! We don’t know what to wear! | Las Vegas Elopement Photography

By McKenzi Taylor
Las Vegas Elopement Photography | What to Wear!

You have your photography session booked, the location will be awesome, you know how you are doing your hair and your makeup… Then you realized you don’t know what you should wear!

Bottom line, You are really the best judge of what you should be wearing, but keep in my some of these basic tips to avoid hassle later!

Tips from the Las Vegas Elopement Photography professional, Taylored Photo Memories:

Solid colors are better than prints!

Solids are less distracting than prints. The most important element in a photograph is YOU, not what you are wearing.Las Vegas Elopement Photography | Eldorado Canyon | Nelson Nevada Engagement | Taylored Photo Memories

Color is fun!

Don’t be scared of adding some vibrant colors to your wardrobe for your photo shoot! I have to admit I am partial to having people wear black, but adding a little color can really make for interesting imagery!Nelson Nevada | Ghost Town | Taylored Photo Memories

You don’t have to match (exactly)!

I really enjoy photographing couples or families that put some effort into what they are going to wear, especially if it’s a big group! For example, the entire family got the memo to wear something blue, but they don’t have to wear the exact same color blue. I like that they weren’t forced to wear the exact same tone of blue or the same shirt. The variety is nice and it still looks uniform!vegas family pictures - taylored photo memories

Add your own flare but don’t dress overly trendy!

It’s nice to have your own style and dress modern, but remember you don’t want to look back on your images in a few months or years and realize you look hideous. Instead add a little of your own personality with a favorite piece of jewelry etc.Las Vegas Strip Engagement Session | Las Vegas Elopement Photography

Get outside! And have your own kind of fun!

I am an on location photographer, so most of my shoots are outdoors anyway, but pick one of your favorites locations for the photographs!Las Vegas Elopement Photography | Anniversary Photo Shoot | Jeep | Adventure Wedding Photography

Las Vegas Elopement Photographer | Mt. Charleston Engagement Session

By McKenzi Taylor | Las Vegas Elopement Photographer

The last time I visited Mt. Charleston was last year and I was in my Las Vegas elopement photographer mode as I was photographing an intimate ceremony in the woods there. I was so thrilled when Jim and Jade had an interest in taking an adventure up to the big M.C. because I was dying for an excuse to head that way! It’s the perfect time of year to head up there for an engagement session as it’s still a little cool and crisp, but you don’t need to worry about snow chains :)

When I photographed these two it was a crazy time of year for them as they are both accountants and I think it was right at the height of the tax season. They were still fun to be around, brought their visiting family members and of course their lovely and adorable dogs! We shot some fun photos in the Aspen trees near Mary Jane Falls and just wandered around the woods to scope out some fun locations!

This Vegas couple plans to wed this fall in Jim’s home state of Kentucky! I wish them tons of love and a happy future!!

Tracy & Martin | Red Rock Canyon Engagement Session!

Red Rock Canyon Engagement Session | Adventure Wedding Photographer

By McKenzi Taylor

It’s raining in Red Rock Canyon on this beautiful Tuesday afternoon, so I figured it’d be a great opportunity to post some photos from the beautiful location! A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with Tracy and Martin for their Red Rock Canyon engagement session. Tracy and I have known each other for almost a year, I’d guess so I was thrilled when she asked if I would take some engagement photos of her and her husband-to-be, Martin!

We had a good time, to say the least. We took the images in the early afternoon so I knew the sun was going to be a bit bright and harsh. Unbeknownst to them, I dragged them onto one of my favorite hiking trails so we could see the beautiful wildflowers in bloom and I knew there was the possibility of a little waterfall. We got lucky that the purple wildflowers were vibrant and full of life, but the water fall was a pathetic trickle! :)

We made the best of our adventure! These Dodger’s fans will probably always remember their Red Rock Canyon engagement session with Taylored Photo Memories! I wish them a lifetime of happiness!

Cheers and game on!

My running life | Adventure Photographer

Ironman 70.3 | Vineman | Adventure Photographer

By McKenzi Taylor | Adventure Photographer

Some of you may know that I enjoy a good run from time to time and have done a few marathons, half marathons and triathlons… Running has literally transformed my life. When I first moved to California in 2008, I knew I wanted to become more active and meet more active people with healthy lifestyles, that’s when I decided to join Team in Training and run for a cause. I met some of the most amazing people, one of whom I recently learned passed away from cancer herself which I am still in shock from.

I can’t tell you how fortunate I am to have met some of the most amazing people through my running journey’s. I have run several races with great friends (trust me, you find out many details about your running partners on long painful 20 mile runs), met interesting people that have traveled the world, run with people that have run 100 mile races, been a part of other awesome causes like the 100 Mile Club. Through running, I learned to swim in the ocean and train and do my first half ironman.  Because I had an interest in all of that, I believe I was able to really transcend into so many other likes and hobbies.

So, the news from the Boston Marathon explosion was a very big shock to me. I have to admit, I followed it tirelessly each and every day until the suspect(s) were captured. I knew a few people that qualified for the Boston Marathon and I knew they were there and I couldn’t image all the chaos they were experiencing at that point. I just don’t understand why someone would choose a marathon as the target for terrorism. People spend a great deal of their lives training and trying to qualify for this a once in a lifetime experience, it seems so unfair to rob these qualifiers of their joyous occasion because of someone’s insane decision to attack this wonderful event.

I am really trying to understand why anyone would do this, but alas we may never understand.

I’ll keep running… that’s all I know.

Red Rock Canyon Engagement Session | Las Vegas Elopement Photography

las vegas elopement photography | red rock canyon engagement session

By McKenzi Taylor | Las Vegas Elopement Photography

Over the weekend I had the chance to photograph several engagement sessions all of which were in Red Rock Canyon! While Taylored Photo Memories normally does our fair share of Las Vegas elopement photography, it was a nice change of pace to do some other sessions over the past weekend!

Here is a sneak peek of Tracy and Martin! They were up for a little adventure and since we were shooting so early in the afternoon and the sun was so bright I made them do a bit more hiking than anticipated, but these two came prepared! :) These Dodger’s fans wore the right shoes and comfortable clothing for their photo shoot in Red Rock Canyon!

More to come from this fun-loving couple soon!
